First build.......G1bbos B6

So I gots me bandit in April and it looked like this:

But the paint was done with spray cans and was dull as a dull thing that’s really dull, so I got a full set of bodywork in good nick of "that auction site" and changed a few bits like can and bars 'till I got to this stage, which is how it was until yesterday:

So the plan was originally just to strip it down and replace/paint/powdercoat everything and drop a GSXR 750 lump in it. Then I thought with more go it definitely needed more stop as the standard calipers are pants, however there are no calipers I can fit without using adaptor plates and I don't like the look of them. RadioBloke happened to be old mates with my dad and have a set of k6 GSXR750 USD's hanging around his garage, as well as an Acewell dash(and about a billion other cool things but as an apprentice I only have so much money:shakeno:).?50 off eBay saw a set of radial GSXR1000 calipers land on the mat and thats about where I am now, So now its become something along the lines of USD front end replacing the 750 lump(for now...) along with the original plan of restoration.

Had a good look at the front end and the stem off the GSXR fits inside my headstock, so I guess with the correct bearings acquired (if available?)I just need a top yoke? Ah yes, the top yoke. Well it just so happens that I'm an aerospace engineer specialising in CNC milling, and while the bastards don't let us make our stuff, my supervisor is away this weekend.....
Forks are 40mm shorter so attempting stepped top yoke...

Slid the forks in earlier just to see if the stem would go in...

And this is all my bits so far.....

Dash...

Let’s see what happens with the yoke tomorrow, I'm thinking it’s still gonna be a all to yan but while I have the chance, and it’s free, I might as well try...

well done that man , nice big chunk of billet you got there , get the 3 holes in while you have the chance , the rest can be done in stages if needs be . watch out that you step it in a manner that allows plenty of steering lock

you could always sell your car to raise the cash for a custom subframe
