Volvo - the car for lame fuckers. What do you think? I reckon it's kind- of catchy but I don't
see it accompanying a series of tasteful colour ads in the quality press for the latest sad-
looking, safety-concious car from the country with the world’s highest suicide rate. It isn‘t so
much the expletive on the end - entirely justified in this context -although I’m not usually one to get
excited about the use of a word you can hear screamed by four year old's in every playground in Britain. No, I
think its unsuitability is more to do with the fact that it's true.
In the past I have thought that Volvo got an undeservedly bad time in the bike press, but their latest TV advert
has pissed me right off. It's the one where some smug estate agent-type sits there calmly while a white transit van piles into
the side of his big-arsed ugly bus. You'd expect him to be concerned for his personal safety. But no,
because his new car comes equipped with SIPS - Side Impact Protection System - so he can just sit
there polling his dick, in a manner of speaking. I’m not expecting some kind of letter from either Volvo or their
solicitors - but would they like to send le statistics that allocate blame in incidents where one
vehicle Is struck in the side by another? The way I see it, accidents like the one I just described most
often happen when a car pulls out across the path another vehicle that ls legally and legitimately
expect to going about it's business.

So here's the scenario: Mr Volvoman is turning out his drive on the way to the garden centre
and he sees you coming. Does have time to pull out? Well, why not eh ? Lets face it, a large
commercial vehicle can't hurt him. So the bike is the casualty. Behind the airbags, crumple zones
and impact bumpers of his volvo he becomes Captain Scarlet - Indestructible.
Professionals like the police, have labelled this patten of behaviour RCF - Risk Compensation Factor.
I call it unacceptable and the add should be pulled.

interested to know if any of these guys still build/work with bikes as  its usually in the blood and they do look oldish back then ? be nice to know if any of the early builders have built a bike in the last few years up to the standard of there previous work...a pic of old vs new would be great from same builder ?

just interested in what the original builders who started it all off do or think of the streetfighter scene now and are they still at it with new modern bikes or given up ? some kind of thread with an interview style past and present would be great ? just an idea but delete if gone off topic a bit
