Well i finally won a set of front discs at a reasonable price for 2nd hand ones, i will look at replacing the damaged galfer disc once the bike is on the road and i am happy that it is going to hit the spot and is a worthy project.

I have the Speed triple yolk that will be off to my mate who polishes to be polished, and i have some custom risers in the planning too.

Just need to get my arse in gear and finish off the tail piece.

Stole some time over the last few days to get some more done on the Tona, not much to show in pics but got the seat unit pretty much sorted shape wise, a little more fettling and it will be there. The jury is still out on the ZX10 light, thinking of praps an SV1000/650 unit but not decided yet.

I have cheated on the front end, i am using the original top faring and lights, simpley coz A: i am skint and cant justify chuckin loads of dosh at a custom light etc B: i have never had the bike on the road and want to test its reliability before i do. So i have trimmed and filled and will end up with what is essentialy a nose cone that will be colour coded. I am also going to sink some cats eye style lights into the air intakes.

Will be loseing the clip ons, got the Speed triple top yolk and risers are being made.

Managed to sneak a few hours to get some more done here and there, mostly on the seat unit...

The bargain ?5 ebay purchase SV1000 rear light required some careful cutting and fettling to fit.

And the ebay super bright orange LED's made for nicely subtle indicators, especially when trimmed and stuck together in pairs.

All striped down now though due to wiring gremlins, found 4 so far but i have a mate who is a wiz with lecktics so that will be sorted soon.

Starting to think on zorst solutions and a seat pad, thinking of a gel seat.

UPDATE

Thought i would resurrect this thread rather than start a new one, so, after getting the Tona on the road ( like this ), well after two weeks on the road i decided that it was not right, the forks were not returning and the fairing was doing my head in. So back in the garage and the work commenced... slowly

So with the fairing dropped and the forks sorted the rebuild continued with the purchase and addition of a nice set of twin bates on ally brackets thanks to Chunky!

Losing the faring also aloud me to fit some wider bars with a higher lift !

So today was Lectrickery day.... bit daunting but there is just far too much wiring for my likeing and as i have removed the clocks too i have relocated the idiot lights on the tank cover... (pics to follow)

More to follow.. !!

Looking cool. Im into RWU forks at the moment and they look really good on the front of the bike, much nicer on the eye than boring USD front ends that everybody fits.:big grin: (so if you ever fancy a swop step this way...):big grin:

AAhhh well i loiks me rwu'ies, got a nice stance as they are thicker than most, and have a bit of milling going on not just ya straight formed stantions.

Got a set of thug yolks being milled by Pingu as well so that should set the front end off a treat, hoping to get them soon so i can get the bike finished. i want to have that and the XJR on my stand this year.
