Right, need a good connection for a lap top thats in another room, would it be better to run a long cable from the modem or a wireless router?

Needs to be good as it needs to stream webcam etc etc without freezing..

If you don't mind the cables use it much more secure than wireless and no interference

Wireless gets affected by microwaves, cordless phones, all sorts of shite and can be easily hacked with correct software go cable if you want it for security cams

Another one for hard-wire here... run my pcs upstairs in the front bedroom (currently an office and guitar/keyboard space)... got a couple of cables that scoot round the skirting board and then drop down through the floor into the modem/router downstairs.

Mrs uses wireless in the same room as the modem/router though, 'cos she doesn't like wires all round the floor.
Born again bastard. Tendency to cunt as well...

Use wireless for my laptop for surfing, etc., but for streaming video to TV, PS3, etc. use hardwired.
