Given up on the Z1000, time for a new toy
« on: February 01, 2014, 06:29:38 PM »
After a few mods and tweaks I got my Z1000 running in the high 10's last year, but it was never going to go much quicker without some serious work.  As is it now coming up to 10 years old, I thought it best to retire it and buy something with a bit more poke.  Enter Kawasaki mark 2, a 2011 ZX10R FAF (2010 model).

Mods so far, ABM fat bar conversion (can't stand clip ons), Akrapovic end can and link pipe, Power Commander 5, Healtech XTRE, lowered gearing -1 front +2 rear, HM quickshifter

Hoping for mid to low 10's if I can get it off the line and keep the front wheel down.  Will hopefully get it to the drag strip in May, so I will post up progress

For anyone who is interested, the Z1000 is now up for sale :big grin:

Looks good Alan. Any scope for stretching and lowering for the strip?

Not much.  I will use a tie down strap on the front.  I have adjustable lowering links for the rear, but that's about it.  Don't want to stretch it as it still needs to be good on the road and maybe the odd track day.  It is only for a bit of fun and if I can get it into the low 10's I will be more than happy
