They can follow you in a car, indeed they can. But they just don't like to.
I'd agree totally, they are shite. I know it's sometimes tricky enough to find a test centre that would test bikes too.
Also, be patient - hopefully you'll pass first time and it'll all be ok.
I had someone crash into me during my first car test when I was 17. My test was annulled, so I had a free retest available but after the crash, I didn't much fancy driving cars at all. I never got my fee back, never did a retest (couldn't afford the instructors fees) and my driving instructor was a right C-u-next-tuesday about it. If it happened today, I would sue their asses off, DSA and driving school - would have tried to get my test fee and theory fee and claimed for the whiplash I got which saw me miss a physics A-level module exam, so I had to retake that and the trauma and the psychological damage and my lesson fees cos they were pretty useless by then (seriously, I couldn't even sit in a drivers seat of a car without bursting into tears) could have been quids in. But in 1997 it just wasn't the done thing by a 17 year old, was it?
Darn it.
