valve shims ???

Hi , is there a valve shim kit i can buy for the zxr400h2 ? ,mine need doing but i dont have the time to take bike to bits and go fetch new right size shims , anyone know if i could just buy afew sizes and wing it abit ?

Thanks , was thinking of buying shims before i started so i have them to hand so i can do in one day , not done shims on a zxr400 , easy or not ? ,any little tips anyone have on doing them ?

Look in "Know your stuff" there is a write up on how do do them, and yes they are easy as you don't need to remove the cam's.

Mori-man you are a star , thankyou , your thread on doing valve clearances is better than the manual i printed off yesterday ,better pictures ,fabulous text and description , much more information , brilliant , doing them today so with abit of luck i should have them done and dusted today ,thats if college motorcycles is open with it being good friday , let you know how i get on , once again thanks for the point in the right direction

Following MM's advice I've also goa 'shim chart' going now.

Its got written down in it what shims are in which valves so next time they need adjusting no need to measure the shims, just the clearances to work out what size replacement (or swappings needed)

I managed to swap quite a few around

Nope i aint got round to it , found a chart that came with the bike tho and thats got a 2003 list of shims done so might be of help
