I was wondering what sort of speeds I ought to expect from each gear. I've got an entirely different engine note to learn all over again now.

I'm used to the sound the Rover T series makes, and I know when to shift without thinking or looking at the tacho, now I'm baffled by the noise, and I find myself short shifting on the ZXR rather a lot.

The gears really do seem flexible though, as it certainly doesn't seem to mind being in 6th at 60ish. That's a baffling concept, because the 'Tesse certainly doesn't agree with the concept of low speeds in higher gears. She doesn't even seem to like cruising in 5th at 60, I find she cruises most happily at 60 in 4th, (though with current fuel prices I'm loathe to cruise at higher revs for any extended period of time)...

Methinketh it's gonna take a while for me to get used to having 14,000 revs to play with...
