Hi,
I'm doing a trackday at the above cicuit with MSV, though I'd post up and see if anyone was interested, I'll be in the novice group as I've only done an evening session at Brands Indy before, I'll be travelling from North Kent DA17 on my bike.
Cheers, Anthony

I've got an MSV voucher and I'm just waiting on the weather for this one!
I have the day booked off, so it's looking extremely likely... I'll be booking into Novice as well.
I know Gem was interested in a track day and I was going to ask on Facebook if anyone else is up for this?
£115 I think it is.

Don't you want to use yours? What you looking to hire?

Hiring is cheaper than using your own - especially if you bin it! Plus it takes all the worry away and you get tyre warmer, wets, full mechanical support etc.
All the cheaper hire bikes seem to be out, so I can either scrap the idea of my 'cheap' track day here and pay through the nose, or risk using mine and take it easier...
I'm not sure how sports touring tyres will cope with a whole track day, either! And if I bin mine I truly am fkd.

Oh arsicles!
Just realised there's a 101db limit anyway - so I won't be using my 9r!

Well, I know a 'noisy' day is classed as 105db+, so is it really worth paying for a trackday, riding 90 miles, and then finding out I can't run?
Back to looking for a decent hire bike that won't break the bank...

Everything seemed against me on this one, so I've squeezed Wednesday off work and will be doing Oulton Park instead using the Focused Events trackday/hire bike package!
If I can sort out my sound I'll definitely consider Bedford on my 9r for another time, though...
Hope you have a great day 400_Fan - weather looks good for it!

Hi guys,
Shame you couldn't sort something Jamz it was a great day, the weather was good, freezing in the morning but was warm and sunnyish throughout the day. Noise wasn't an issue on mine gladly, thought I'd have a problem so got a baffle off ebay... Full Micron system with Art race can came in at 97dbs!!
I was the only 400 sadly, but proud to say I was the quickest in the novice group....... Well into, through and out of corners at least!

The straights made a big difference as every time I passed someone, on the next straight almost gauranteed they'd pass again, which made it alot of fun doing it all over again. It has some great corners/ chicanes and as it runs anti-clockwise gave plenty of oppurtunities to improve my left hand bend taking... I've got slightly worn knee sliders to prove

There was 3 crashes the whole day which compared to Brands was amazing, plus a couple of people outbraked themselves at the end of the long back straight and went grass tracking which was funny to watch bike and legs flapping all over the place!!

(only funny as they never came off)
I definately recommend it especially while it's a bit of an unknown for bike days, there was no more than 65-70 bikes total split into 3 groups on a 3 mile circuit which meant not much congestion on track!!
Hopefully my pics will turn up in the post by the end of the week so I can post them up, I should have borrowed my mates bullet cam..... Next time
Tyre wise I've got Pilot Road 2's fitted, more than up for the job but I'd def want some stickier stuff if I was to go in say the inters on my 400 as I'd imagine the pace to be that much quicker in the corners?
Hope you have a good time at Oulton....... Roll on next year!!

Good man! I -ing LOVE track days lol!
If it's anything like the two I've now done, if you were quickest on the twisty bits in the Novice group them you'd easily be fine with Inters or even Advanced! There are always a few stupidly fast people in the Novice group - thankfully I turned out to be one of them today!
Oulton Park is well worth a visit because the whole lot is great and there's so much variation and stuff to learn. It's utterly crap and terrifying in the wet, though (the sighting laps and one session before lunch was in heavy rain). There were a couple of race-prepped ZXR400's there having a great time as well!
As I got my deposit back for the hire bike, I think I can squeeze one more in before the end of the year... still deciding when and where, though...
