Right ive gone through the info on here and im all curfuddled

her who shall be ignored most of the time has two zxr,s one for the track and a spare for wet days and for me to mess about on, on track days (makes kindsa sense if one goes pop or gets smeared up the track we have spares for the other ) and in buggerd if im chucking me RC up the track (again )
any way the track bike has a box plugged into the speedo but a yellow cdi marked C ,it has a flat spot mid range and the limiter cuts in around 14.2k revs running 92 mains ,now has an M cdi on it havent tried it yet
the road bike has wires from the speedo other than power to the bulbs ,i have an m box on it now (was led to belive this is a 14k rev cdi) will this still need the box for the speedo ,it does pull well from low down ,much better than the track bike
is there a difference in the l and m cdi
has the C cdi a different advance curve
are the import carbs smaller
do zx6 carbs fit and or make any difference
cheers
and dont forget it will soon be
CHRISTMAS ,ho ho ho

hello yes import carbs are smaller, there 30mm compared to uk 32mm carbs so give less power. yes there are differences in the cdi's im not 100% on all of them i just no a blue 'm' sticker cdi is an unrestricted uk spec one.im sure there is a thread around explainin them all if you have a look.some imports are restricted at the speedo so need a derestriction box fitted to the speedo.there is also a thread about these as well explainin how to wire in a resistor to elimante the speed restriction.

thanks for that ,but i have looked and wasnt sure if i have M boxes will the speedo restrictor still work and need by passing ( not having had a restricted bike as i passed my test in 1783 when Great Britain ruled the world i have never had this problem )

If you can get an M box its plug and play to full speed, no need to worry about the speed restrictor.

check out this forum:

viewforum.php?f=164

first 3 topics explain each restriction method and hopefully a decent explanation for each
