A locksmith should be able to do it from a barrel.

However, its probably just cheaper to get a second hand lockset...

What price were you thinking Dav?
To be honest I was looking to hold out for the seat lock too which my bike has not had since I bought it, but at the right price I would paypal you the cash.

£30 for the ignition lock, key and the filler cap. The one key fits both. I thought the seat locks were universal but if not I have one which I will chhuck in. Postage will be around £5.

Ok, thanks. I'd never bothered fitting one because I thought it would mean having an extra key knocking about!

7 allen bolts around the filler and the whole lot comes off as a unit - job done !

A lot of locksmiths are just key cutters so you might find it hard finding someone local so don't be suprised if you get a lot of knock backs or "can't be done"replies.

Sorry Mori Man but Kwackkev22 is right................just unbloting a locked filler cap will NOT get it off the tank once you undo the bolts the cap will remain in place held by the latch that locks it.
And with good reason too if just taking the bolts out allowed the cap to come off petrol thieves would had a field day.

A GOOD locksmith will re cut a key to fit your barrel................... best way is to take the top yoke off with the barrel still attached that way you don't have to cut the security bolts holding the barrel in place.

Been there got the T shirt and am friendly with the locksmith :smt002

I've removed two filler caps like that, a while back now - one from my old H tank and another from a ZRX1200 tank

ferck knows how I done it :smt017 Maybe lifting from the back to make the latch pivot free :smt017

Go get a key cut :smt005
