Ever wondered what your engine is doing at high rpm??

For those that have wondered, what exactly does your engine go through when your giving it the berries?? IT's only the top end mind, but still pretty cool!!

Could be wrong but I have a feeling that camshafts are turning at twice the RPM of the crankshaft ?
Which puts ZXR 400 camshafts at 29,000 rpm on the red line.?

Good video interesting to see the valve springs rotating at high rpm.

i read a comment n the vid saying that the reason the springs rotate is so the shims wear evenly.

I thought it was 2 crank revolutions-1 cam revolution? Could be wrong though (it has happened once before :smt002 )!!!! Either way, it's still fooking fast!!!!
I reckon it would be interesting to see inside a pnuematic valve engine, just for comparisons.

your right it is 2 revolutions of the crank to 1 revolution of the cams.......

just imagine the ducatis with there engines 20k+rpm ...................
