ZXR400SP - Original airboxes ?

Post by mark400 »

Hi there, I've just bought a 1995 SP ( now I have 6 zxr 400's!) as it was really well priced. It has all the SP gear, except that the previous owner didn't get on with the flatslides and sold 'em, fitting a standard set of CV carbs & standard airbox instead.

Apart from the TPS sensor, I have never seen the original SP airbox system. All my race bikes have ram airboxes, which are supposed to be a copy of the SP one - But I'm fairly sure the SP's never had a cut away in the radiator, or did they ? I'd love to see a photo of the original set up, if anyone can provide this ?

P.S. I Won both SS400 races this weekend at Brands, ahead of the CBR400's and VFR400's :excited KAWASAKI Forever !! :excited

Ben Cole (ZXR400 SP) was flying too in the F400, running faster than all but one of the Grand Prix 250's in the wet - Well done Ben !

SP airbox is the same as a L and might even be interchangeable depends on how it fits onto carbs............. I'll look at one later

The TPS is not connected to the airbox

And well done Ben

Cheers Cargo. I suppose if the airbox is the same aprt number, the carbs would have to have had a plate like the cv's do to screw the airbox onto.
