Well the GP is cancelled at Motegi this weekend - ferkin volcanoes :smt013
So had to fill the void with something
Next city bike shop are having a Dyno day so got myself booked in today - 2,500 Yen which isn't too bad
This is going to give me a good base line to work from, I'm hoping the Dyno operator is fairly local so I can then book in with them again when I finish the next level of mod's
The bike spec' is:
H2 engine - standard
33mm FCR's with a mix of F3 settings and my own
Kwak racing exhaust system F3
CDI & Pulsar - standard
Stick coil mod'
My guess is 60PS rear wheel (that's about 59BHP)
What's yours?

0.0 BHP at the mo!!!! I'll get it run up when it's finished, haven't got a clue what it'll be, about 50ish maybe? My old B1H was 115 at the rear wheel (Rust In Pieces!)

Mine was done about 6 months ago, made 55.8. Was an H engine with L carbs, airbox etc running a Micron system. If i can find the graph i'll post it, although as you'll see from the graph the topend is still a bit rich and i'm too skint to get it sorted atm

Just realized my wording has been open to interpretation !
I was meaning , what was your guess about what power my bike will make
But, carry on
Have to say tuned ZXR400 are exceptional as my ZRX400 ( a side draft ZZR400 engine) needs a 600cc conversion to get any where near 70+ RWBHP . I'll be doing that soon using a ZZR4 bottom end and ZZR600 block n pistons with cam's

I hope "was" isn't in the past tense
Better a bit rich than lean , as summer is arriving here (26'c roadside yesterday) mine is richening up but still think it's lacking above 12K so will have a fettle on Saturday and see if I can iron it out , hoping the Dyno man might give me an indicator of what to do when they see the air fuel on it.

I meant is... having said that I have picked up a death rattle, so looks like the cam chain is due for replacment as i didn't have one to hand when i did the tensioner
Snigger, on a side note, when i took it in I was given a disapproving look and told it was lean on the needles and rich on the mains... Then i gave him the biggest box of jets in the world and he called me something unmentionable
I'll be interested to see how much yours is putting outwththe mods

ta .. and its relevant cos its a zxr engine ... a zzr ISNT a zxr engine..
and it was 61.9 .. thats nearly 62!
my guess on yours is 65 ish .. depends more on the dyno than the spec as far as raw numbers are concerned.. be interesting to see the graph though. Its not miles different to the spec of my H1 the first time it was dyno'd, and that made anywhere between 57 and 66 depending on the jetting
Gutted !!

be interesting to see what it makes when the clutch is fixed..
was he winding it on rather than cracking the throttle through the midrange ? only the graph seems a little low, even before the clutch slip came into play.
38PS @ 9000rpm compared to mine which shows 44PS @ 9000rpm and the ZX4 which had ~40PS @ 9000rpm .. and that was the middle of a horrible flatspot (since fixed)

Yeah, I told them unless they done a 2nd gear roll on not to bother cracking the throttle until above 6k as it would fall on it's face in 4th doing it - think that was 3rd they selected.
But once above the glitch he did crack it open.
If you look at the bottom side of graph it does pick up initially well so if that carried on the line would be well above shown , so if they could have cracked it on it would certainly be within what you specified.
The younger lad said for track it would work well as is cause never much below 5K and it is very close to the F3 spec' which I have worked from. If the clutch hadn't fooked up I had the F3 CDI and pulsar in my rucky with tools to swap over to do a back to back but no point changing
Crank is now back so will start the F3 engine soon and get it booked in with the FCR guy - his dyno and he's got a base line to work from
But really they said to me, no prob's to sort out and because I'm swapping out were happy to tell me how to cure the now
Really good talking with blokes who know their salt rather than just Dynojet fitters & fettlers
