Hey, im new to the site. Iv recently bought a 1989 Kawasaki ZXR400 H1 and it has a few little problems and i cant wait for it to become roadworthy. I am desperately in need of a generator cover/engine casing as this is the main thing stopping it from re-joining the road, along with new brake pads, a back disc and possibly a change of fairings. Just wondering if anyone happens to be selling one. If so please let me know and how much you'd like for it, including postage. Thank you very much. Anthony

Welcome mate, nice to see another H1 still alive.
In all honesty though mate if thats the inside of ur generator cover, u got bigger problems than that. I hope youve replaced the generator windings and identified why it made that mess! I havent seen a cover look like that from the inside before. Still, hope u find what ur looking for and i hope the repair isnt to expensive
P.S. This should be in classifieds! please advertise it there

Bought my ZXR with a pre-damaged generator cover that had been bodge fixed/sealed with araldite ... looked to have done the job mechanically, and no oil was leaking. I just coated it in black high temp silcoset 158 black silicone sealant/adhesive. Has done 2500 miles like that, cost £9.00 ... New cover £100, Gasket £10 .... I'm happy to spend the difference on petrol to run the little lovely.

Yep, lots of them get patched up over the years, first thing to break if the bike falls on its side, so long as they dont' like oil they can be sanded / painted and you wouldn't notice.
