Hi guys...
Finally got round to picking the zxr up today! Got it off a friend. Need quite abit of TLC. forks seals need replacing, rear brake pads. But everything else on the bike works!!

Engine runs sweetly, gearbox too. Although the downpipes need changing as they have a hole on the 4-2 section. Maybe this can be welded?
The bike is a H2 1990 (unsure on this, might be a H1) Its completly black.
Anyway, what im getting at is this is basically just a project to pass some time, what would you guys decide to do if it was yours? Id like to hear your views!! And if i like the idea of your views, then i will do that to my bike! Like i said, this is just a project, so i dont mind what happens to it, as long as it is sensible!
I will try and post a pic up 2morro
Let me know your ideas and views guys!!!

blimey, that pic turns up everywhere ..
(its my racebike just before i bought and converted it, my avatar is that bike at pembrey in pretty much the same spec as in the pic)
which makes yours a H1 if its got the braced swingarm, and a H2 if it doesnt.
Im passing through a "rat" phase atm .. mainly as i'm sick of doing cleany/polishy/painty stuff all day at work..
so i vote for doing it matt black, loud and scruffy.
like my daily driver

DSCF0038.JPG
or do a period correct F3 rep in period race livery, itoham, beet etc ...

lol, i just typed the bike name into google and it popped up!! must be a popular choice then
My brace isnt the same as the one in the pic, so maybe a H2 then?
I was thinking about removing all lights, smoothing all body work (race, track look) and using it for a track/road bike. But who knows! Got any ideas?? Someone told me to have a go at streetfightering it, but i dont think it will suite the bike!
Michael.

if your plastics are in good condition, keep them and just fit race bodywork if thats the look you want.. I rode mine round wales for months in full race spec (no lights etc) with just a numberplate stuck on the back. having to lean it against petrol pumps wore thin after a while though.. as did not having any lights when you get stuck in traffic as evening sets in.
I dont think 400's make good street-fighters.. they end up being to a real streetfighter what a mazda MX5 is to a TVR Chimaera

here you go! Heres some pics of the bike, not very good ones as was taken off my phone.
The body work is off, 'zorst is off too. But you get the general idea. I think im going to start a project in the other section of this site.
