im thinking about selling my zxr soon as ive just got a zx7r (for free-result!) so the zxr has to go. just wondered how much of a difference an mot would make when selling it? i know it will fail but only on rear bulbs, apart from that it is fine. just wanted your thoughts peeps.

From a buyers point of view, I think it adds a little security that the bike is at least roadworthy. But you should be careful, selling a bike without an MOT and saying just the bulbs need changing is a bit risky, especially if they stick it in for an MOT and fails on something else, as a buyer id be pissed off. I dont know how much an MOt is these days, but its worth putting in for i reckon.

Agree with Rob , if it's only going to fail on bulbs - change them and MOT it , what's the beef :smt017

Although a MOT is only roadworthy on the day as a buyer I got some knowledge that bearings , oil seals , brakes and electrics are working.

A bike with nothing to me is next to scrap value - absolute bottom book price regardless if it is in pristine condition so said same bike MOTd & Taxed could have 2K onto it ! An average bike your going to be 300GBP ~ with a ticket on it from bottom book or below !

If it owes you nothing and is a runner 250 quid quick sale , MOT n Tax and nice 750+

MM!

ps. Just seen a 1989 H1 sell for 349,000 Yen and no where near as nice as mine :smt004 thats over 2K GBP ! I need to start importing them back :smt005
