Restoring a shaggy old l3

Post by bumble72 »

Dear All

I bought an L3 in Jan and did nothing with it til last weekend when I did a little tidying up on its sorry condition before a motorway test ride which it managed well by and large.
Not so well was a mega flat spot around 3krpm. Probably needs a reject for the micron. But I don't the shitty racket microns make.

Could anyone recommend an exhaust or slip on thats light, quiet and ideally won't require rejetting from standard. A heard a scorpion on you tube. It sounded quite quiet. If necessary I will rejet, but obviously if I can avoid, so much the better.

Also could anyone recommend where to get a double bubble screen cheap. Cheapest I,ve seen between eBay and Amazon is £41, which seems steep to me.

Thanks very much.

Did Motad ever do a system for the bike , that will be quiet ?

Still a couple months away from hauling mine out the garage and getting in about it.

Hmm, not too sure.
Might have a look utub to see if someone,s got a recording. Although most people record these things in their garages which strikes as odd as generally I don't like being gassed by my own exhaust. Also the echoes are really how it sounds in the open.
