i've just discovered bittorrents and i'm a bit stuck, i bought a sony dvd rewriter which came with Nero 7 although it doesn't seem to allow me to burn movie dvds so downloaded dvdflicks and some other software, took 2 n half hours to burn a dvd which didn't work, i've read on the net it takes about 8 - 12 mins to burn a movie dvd so where am i going wrong?
questions
1 what's a seed
2 what's a peer
3 how do i burn a movie dvd from the file i've downloaded?
cheers guys!

1. seed is someone thats sharing the content you are downloading
2. peer is someone who is downloading the same as you
3. you need software to convert the file to dvd format. one i use is called WinAvi but a "SERIAL" (hint hint google) can be easily found for it or you can pay.
when looking for torrents pick the one with the most seeds.
use em for lost

I had my first look at downloading torrents earlier this week.
I downloaded the program thingy - uTorrent 1.6.1 - then went back to the torrent site and couldn't work out what the Devil I was supposed to do to get anything to download.
So I went back to Limewire.

torrents are a pretty poor way of getting backups of the movies/software you already own
you should be using newsgroups.

Guys you should really be using newsgroups like Adam says, You can get a film in less than an hour. If not though use BTjunkie to search for your films and music etc.
I use Bitcomet as my download program. Simply go to BTjunkie, type in the album/film/game/software you want, Look for the one with plenty of seeders(people who have the file you want) and full health(they have the full file) and download it. the torrent will then open up in your torrent program and away you go!
Of course you should have the original before you download

there is a link underneath the movie as it plays, haven't tried it but i suppose it takes you to some url selling the software to record it.
