What to look out for

Post by Caakman400 »

Picked up my ZXR400 a few days ago and only just got off it. Wrists, neck, and back totally f'kd, but absolutely lovin it :smt003 . Got a lovely Nassert-R system which howls like a banshee from 4k rpm :smt007 . Time for some earplugs.

Anyway, since I live in Japan and don't speak enough JP to parlay with the mechanics, I want to ask you lot for an easy 123 list of things to look out for (camchain, oil, head gasket) - that kinda thing. Bike's got 40,000 km on the clock but the previous owner must have ridden like a puss cos he left fat old chicken strips on the tyres. The engine, shocks, and bearings are still all good, restrictor still in place mind.

Cheers fellas

Yeah - will grab my girlfriend's camera as soon as it's sunny. Pissing down like crazy at the moment. The bodywork isn't in such good nick - needs a lot of tidying up, but it's been garaged by the previous owner (who I suspect was also a fair weather rider as the fasteners and screw heads are mint). Anyway, will try and get some up soon.
