Just got my renewal through 27 Years old, 4yrs NCB, Data tagged, Garaged, no commuting, Meta Alarm, Limited to 3000 Miles a year, TPFT -£149

I want an '04 or '05 ZX6R though, but they want £359 to insure that :smt012

I just can't justify that much extra on insurance when I'm already paying £740+ for the Scooby and £350 for the Corrado.. meh... (plus road tax will go up once past 500cc on the bike)

Maybe I should turbo the 400 :smt002

Just another reason that shows why these little ZXR400s are such great bikes and big bang for your buck.

Can't believe it's such a price jump for a newer slightly bigger bike though.

All about insurance groups i think, even if your ZXR is quite new, the design is nearly 20 years old.

Yeah.. was just looking at groups on MCN, ours are a group 12, the Ninja I'm looking at is a 15...

I neeeed more... moooore power.. plus it'd be nice to have that new bike 'feel' (I can't say smell as they don't have one I don't recall :smt003 )

Hmm, wonder if limiting it to 1000 miles a year and getting an RR (599cc) would make any difference.. probably only about £20 - £30 :smt002

it'll be a jump the first year if you've not regularly ridden a bike over 600cc before, but my insurance was similar, was £360 fully comp for my '05 636 when i got it. Which was great.

Next year it was £289 fully comp. Which was nicer.

This year, I'm looking at £690 because people keep knocking me off my bike and ramming my car. 2 accidents (non fault) and a sp30 within the last 12 months.

To be fair, it took the cops long enough to catch me speeding, you know, about 7 years.

Lol.

I'm selling my titanium laser exhaust off my 636 to pay for the insurance difference this year.
