why not? underneath all that dressing is a very powerful bike, the same with the pan euro, You should have a go riding a pan sometime, their amazing bikes to ride and you wont find many sportsbikes that will lose you round the twisties.

Both the Wing and the Pan have some of the best brakes too, those Goldwing's can outbreak some sports bikes.

Even so they are for the tour not the track, like it says on the comments the guy riding that said a moderate to fast sportsbike could go past him when he is riding that but its entirely down to the rider. probly rite u need big balls thoe or it could be expensive.
ok they aint bad bikes either but i would just rather get a car to be honest cos thats what they are just comfy bit like a car. but i suppose you either like em or you dont. personal pref.

He sure can ride that thing but I have to agree you might as well have a car. He wouln't be able to work his way though a traffic jam or get to the front of the lights! you know they actually make stabalisers for those that come down when your traveling below 10mph!

lol stabalisers that come down i got visions of some little git sawin them off so when you get to the lights you think ahhh no need to put me feet on the floor

It's a great vid....

Funnily enough I was only reminded of that vid the other day, when I saw another one!

Here's what happens there when you try to do it on a Big Gay Harley:

Aye, and sportsbikes are for a track, so why ride one on the road eh? i'd guarantee aswell that if the dude was on a pan there wouldnt have been a video because the guy filming wouldnt have kept up at all. You really should see if you can test ride a pan, they might be touring bikes but honestly the only box they dont tick for a bike is stunning motoGP style looks. You dont even need the balls, traction control is a wonderful thing.

the only reason i dont have a pan euro? cuz i still like to pose next to a nice looking bike once in a while.

As a VFR750 rider, I can vouch for the 'slow' touring bikes being a myth made up by Power Rangers.

Fun slaughtering them, too!
:smt003

As for Pan's... there's a good reason why Pigs and Paramedics use them...

aye VFR's are wickedly fast too although more recently they've been losing the stigma for being a tourer and now have a much larger rep for being 'do it all' machines.

I wouldnt want to try to outrun a piggy on a pan, them monkeys have a psychic knowledge of traffic movement. :smt071 :smt075

why ride a sports bike on the road? because they have been made for the road, obviously not quite as fast as the track bikes but almost, which is why it would cripple a pan or goldwing in every way really, pans arent as fast as a modern sports bike thats a fact. they probly have more torque than a sportsbike but they are miles heavyer.
ooo thats an idea so in theory you could strip one and turn it into some kind of super street fighter or somethin then i recon that would be quick cos you loose alot of weight.
has that ever been done?

Sportsbikes are track animals, because they have a number plate does not mean they are road bikes. Whats laughable is that a lot of sportsbikes never even see a track in their lifetime.

Sportsbikes are fast machines, i agree this is a fact. They were designed to go around a track, fast. The gearing for the road leaves a lot to be desired however and you often find on sports machines between 125 and later 750's but still apparent on modern 6's that there are many corners on the road that you dont have the right gear for and end up far too low in the revs to get a decent drive out with.

The GW's, ST's and VFR's have always had road gearing, good low down and midrange pull because you dont have the room or safety margins to use high rpm peak power on the road. This makes em faster than most would think for thrashing out some cobwebs on some twisties, add in traction control and your onto a funtime winner here.

As i keep saying, if you ride one you'll love it even if you dont want to own one. you'll be surprised how well the whole package works to compliment your riding abilities and never more will you be surprised at seeing someone scratching tarmac on a goldwing. dont be so closed minded about bikes just because you looked at some numbers, as jamz said theres a reason piggies use pans :smt019

a 1.3 litre engine will tug a car around up to a fair speed with a good couple of tons on it, so is a few bits of extra plastic really gonna slow it down much? 280kg to be more precise.

As for a fighter'd pan... bleh i'd rather have all those extra toys and the wind protection to keep me nice and comfortable blasting past those weekend poseurs while getting a handjob off the missus.
