can anyone remember those short metal poles that you would put under the bike when the side stand was down?

so lets say under the right fork leg to lift front wheel and similar to rear wheel?

m & P used to sell them but cant find them anywhere now. was a cheap easy was to lift front or rear of bike with bike side stand

Never heard of them and can't really see how they'd work? Not in any way that would have much use for working on the bike anyway!

If you pull the bike over on the side stand you can lift the front or rear that way! Do you mean the same effect but so that you don't need someone to hold the bike there?

You can get the stands pretty cheap off Ebay these days - probably £50 front and rear or for a centre stand. Change your tyres on loose wheels 3 or 4 times and you've got that money back already! :smt002

yeah they saved the need for an extra pair of hands.

u would lean the bike over onto the side stand and as the right hand side of the bike would naturally want to lift, u simply insert this stick under the swinarm or fork leg and it had a tripod effect on the bike
