Hi, man did i have a nice drag race lol, started at 135 mph i come up along side a civic at 135mph he put his foot down, so i didnt full open the throttle to full just abit more, so i look down and read 150 mph on the clocks thats fair enough but i look left and the fucker is still there so im thinking what the f***, its a civic ( 2002/3/4 model NOT the newest one!) so yeah im like wtf its a civic, so i just nailed the throttle to fully open, needless to say i put a f**k load of distance on him, but wtf i cant believe i had to go to atleast 160 mph to beat a friggen small jap car that looked totally standard, allthough what can i say jap car did get beat by a jap bike !

,
btw i want a civic lol,
Rob

i totally agree, once i was hitting the 160 mark it started to turn into a dot in the mirror, but anyways i had another 5 miles or so to go so i just dropped down to about 110 mph and let him go off, i was just happy with letting that civic know cars aint as quick as bikes !, but still for a car it fucking shifted some,

I have to say I'm quite amused to see it's the people with 750's here claiming Civics are fast!
I've had one decent race with one back when I first got my ZXR400, going down to Hereford. He obviously knew the roads, and his corner speed was a bit faster than me on the 400, but other than that he wasn't much competition. On my 400.
And I was on my first 'big bike' with only a few days/weeks experience on it.
Did I mention that was on my 400cc???

didnt you read i started the race at 135 mph, just rode along side him, he started it put his foot down, i did not use full throttle just a lil tug put the bike at about 145 mph looked left and he still there, im sorry guys but any little car in standard trim that can do 145 ( which is faster than a zxr400 ! ) is pretty f-ing good in my books, only thing is that civic must of topped out then cause once i hit WOT wide open throttle i shot off in the distance,
oh and to the guy about a porche annihilated a carerra (sp) had a TT, had a skyline took me 170 mph to beat it but had it
erm turbo tomcat was a piece of piss yet i was astonished that a rover could do a 140 mph lol, i aint lost to no car off the lines yet, and i say yet !
btw my bike isnt a 750

can i get that repeated so i can understand it? my point anyway was that teh porsche would still have bin on your tail at 160 unless you'd both done it from the lights, i was amazed at how fast they accelerate once their moving.

if his corner speed was faster than yours how can you say they are not fast? Maybe because of all the boy racer culture bikers seem to naturally view themselves as superior drivers because the only people that bother to try race em are inexperienced mod junkies?
civic's are not slow "CARS".

i've had a race with a porsche turbo on the way back from brands Hatch on the M25. Got up to about 160 (was on his wing all the way) when he pussy footed out
to be fair i think if we carred on he would have pulled away on top speed, considering my bike hits the limiter at 165

Well yes, that's my point! I had just come up from a 125cc and however fast I thought I was back then you can be assured that I was toad. He knew the road and that was very clear, as well.
It was when the new Civic R had just come out with it's new-fangled 6 speed gearbox and stuff... And they're -ing ugly cars.
Best blast I had with a car on my ZXR400 was coming from Torquay up the M5 with a BMW M3 mk I both maxed out for about 20 miles!
We gave each other the thumbs up as we parted ways, and although his car looked pretty cool in 3-tone metallic paint, I couldn't help thinking "That's Roland Rat's car, that is!"

The EP3 CTR makes 197bhp & weighs roughly 1200kgs.
But they are very quick.
My old one to get to 130mph very quickly & with minimal fuss
Could also annoy Porsche Boxster owners to their surprise.
How they fair against a ZXR I have no idea, just trying to give you
some more info to help in the gauging process.

i saw that civic yesterday morning, it was too wet, to even think about wanting to play, but he must of been cruising at about 120 mph plus, which leads me to say i want a civic but are they all going to be ragged ?
