Hi All,

Need a bit of help/advice....

After a recent service various fairing screws/bolts/nuts have gone missing :smt017 . Don't know if they were not replaced or have rattled off!!

Anyway, one's that are missing are:

1 from underside of right rear fairing next to tail light.
1 from left upper fairing
1 from left side tail fairing, silver screw below seat

Also the screw at the front of the airbox cover is there but not screwed into anything???

The bloke who did the service did admit to the screws/clips that join both front fairings together (belly pan) going missing and has bodged them together with diffeent bits.

2 months have past since the service, with the dodgy weather and going on holiday, today has been the first time the bike has been washed since and I've noticed this bits missing.

So, firstly do I go back to the bloke who serviced the bike and ask if he knows what happened to them ( friend of the family, does the work cheap and is usually of the very highest standard, has done loads of work in the past for me trouble free )

Secondly, does anyone know if Kawasaki can supply these bits individually and any idea what they cost.

My local Kawaski dealer is Anchor in Finedon, would asking nicely get me the bits off the workshop floor.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice!!!

Rob.

Theres this guide if you need it

The screw in the front of your airbox cover is whats called a 'wellnut'. Its just a metal thread set in rubber and fits into the hole underneath, problem is, if you push too hard you push it through into the frame and theres no chance you will get it back out! The coils use the same thing for thier mounting

If you must have the standard ones you should be able to get them no problem from a good dealer :smt001

I bought a set of the well nuts from on-drives. search the web, you need to buy 8 to meet the minimum order.

This boils my piss!!! :smt013

It's the reason I won't trust many fkrs to work on my bike!

I've lost so many fairing screws over the years that someone could well be running an Ebay shop just with MY bike bits. :smt013

Bunch of camel-humping rub-tuggers! :smt013 :smt013 :smt013

The last few times anyone had my ZXR I ended up with the metal clamp thingy that fits over the brake reservoir 'going missing', and some fkr managed to remove the indicator relay from the wiring loom, neatly taping it all up for me. :smt013

At least you haven't lost the fairing fasteners with the round spacer thing, too - I think my quote was over £6 for the round bit and £4 for the screw....

Oh, and a good tip, stick a small bit of superglue underneath the flange of the wellnut, it shouldnt get pushed through again after that!

i lost one of them on my 750 and had to pay the £6 was like WTF still its all shinny and new :D

i also pushed one of them coil mounts in after my reg went and blew my coil apart, fixed it by using zip ties insted of screws :smt004
