It is loud isn't it?

Went for a bit of a ride (ok about 60 miles) on saturday to test my front brakes.
No matter how many times i've read it on here, still took me by surprise just how much noise kneeslider on tarmac makes
(and yes, it was lapping a roundabout, for all i've said on here before that I wouldn't go out and do that just for the sake of it. hey it was a nice day and I didn't want to go home yet.)

Lovely sound!!!
I now hear it almost every single morning on the last corner before I turn into the work carpark!
First time I got my knee down that noise scared the bejesus out of me and nearly made me stand the bike up in surrprise until I realised what it was!

no. I did about 60 miles around south derbyshire/north leicestershire. Including both left and right hand corners.

tbh i think you'd get dizzy and fall off before you wore through a whole slider. I think it would be about 1200 laps of the roundabout in question!
wonder if anyone's ever tried it?

Three circuits of The Cloverleaf before have left my tyres in such a state that I wouldn't want to risk any more abuse to them.
I reckon you'd need at the very least 20 circuits of that to wear out slider, and mayeb double that!
(yeah I'll try it!!

)

What would run out first though-
Slider, Tyre, Tarmac

, Fuel?

In all honesty I don't think even a race tyre would outlast a kneeslider - it's around 20-30 secs of continuous kneedown then a very short straight, so the tyre doesn't get a chance to cool at all.
Although I suppose if you're really trying to grind the slider into the ground you might do it - if you don't lever the back off the ground first!

Lol
The one thing that people didnt warn me about it how weird it feels! First time I got my knee down was on the ring, I wasnt really hanging off and I wasnt trying to get my knee down! Felt something weird going on, so I picked the bike straight back up again - STUPID i know

it was only when i got back in that I realised that it must have been my knee.

Feckin hell i need a sports bike again. My ER6 will let me get my knee down, but its a struggle. Pegs are just too low, and instead of being able to just replace them you can't its one big unit.
