Just thinking about the lack of white zxr mirrors, its only the glass thats smashed, the rest of the mirror is in one piece, is it possible to put new glass in??? I cant see anyway to remove the palstic rim that holds the glass in though??

only really need it for when I get an MOT

you can buy ones which just stick over the cracked glass. halfords sell them for cars but not for bikes. no need to dismantle the mirror.

there are some for zxr's on ebay here in a nasty green tint. they also do untinted ones for other bikes. might be worth mailing the seller to see if they can get clear ones for the zxr.

the one in the photo is clearly made by motrax. I couldn't find any on the motrax website so it may be they've stopped doing them, but you could give them a ring as well.

there are only two ways to refit glass into those mirrors.

1 is to have the piece cut considerabley smaller than the original and use silicone to make sure it stays put, if you put the mirror in boling water prior to pressing it becomes much more supple.

2 is to cut one edge of the trim, I did the inner edge, slot the glass in, again using heat, then glue the trim back on.

cheers guys. I dont have the old cracked mirror so I would struggle to stick a new mirror over the old one

May look to see if i can get a mirror and cut it to size and then get it into the frame as suggested:)
