Hey people

I know this isnt a computer forum, but you all seem well up to date with IT things! I have been repairing a mates computer and have got well peed off with Outlook. The hard drive died so I got a new one and put everything back on. I have a total backup of what was on the old harddrive including the Outlook .pst file. My mate really needs the emails and the contact list that was saved on this file, but I cant seem to find any way to read it! Any one know how it is done?
Cheers

Dylan

you should just be able to go file "import" (or open cant rember from memory!) then select the .pst file and it will open it as a new set of drop down's, normaly calling it self "archive"

Yeah there should be a file import/export section in the 'file' menu.

Click on import
Click on import from other program or file
click on .PST file
open up the PST file that you have backed up.

This will then give you a couple of options on how you import the data

Just click on overwrite duplicates (There wont be any)
The only problem with the contacts is that i think they are not stored in that PST file

You need to use the same or newer version of Outlook as an older version wont be able to read the PST file,
