hi all,
where do you lot go to get your fairings, i dont care wether their kwak ones or fibreglass, just something to put on instead of the originals for the winter seasons when im more likely to plant the thing. also crash bobbins i can put on without having to cut my said fairings?
also what cost for the above..

R&G Crash bungs. Go straight on without cutting fairings, and have a reputation for being a quality product (not tested mine, touch wood)

R&G crash protectors every time!

my other half has them on his KR and had a lowside at the ring in June - they did an awesome job of protecting the bike! i had them on the zxr, and they protected the plastics nicely when the bike got knocked over!

ive been crash protecting my gixxer - ive got the frame, fork and swingarm protectors. just gotta get the bar end ones! ive also got rearsets to help protect the plastics

Crash bobbins. I have a set from these guys and they are fantastic quality. They use the top engine mount points like the R&G items rather than others that use the fairing mount points ( which is a baaaaaaaaaad idea).

Can also say that the quality of AMS's fairings are fantastic. Brian at AMS is really helpful as well if you need anything else.

just found the photos of my other halfs off at Brunnchen II on the ring. http://picasaweb.google.com/the.joxor/K1200RCrashDamage. If he had fitted the clutch slave cylinder protector (which he has now) the damage would be minimal - not even the indicator or the brake lever broke!!

they may cost a bit more - but you get what you pay for IMO

boonie, do you not find that the bolts through RSD's crash bungs have a tendency to work loose resulting in creaking from them under braking ?

it actually seems to be the plastic they use compressing slightly under load, so they constantly need re-torquing.. might just be mine .. maybe i just need to buy some thread lock ..

i have their rearsets too and am still in two minds as to wether im happy with them... good for the price, but does that make them good ?

well i've had them on for a good couple of years now.

I've got R&G's and I can tell you they work brilliantly, I have given them extensive testing on a variety of bikes.

I got R&G for my bike an all... they work great. i think they only make em for a model if they are going to work IE protect the bike in a spill. most ppl i know would say R&G or very similar
