need help mixing 2stroke

hi chaps i need help mixing 2stroke ive got a rmx250 and havent a clue how much oil i should put in the tank :smt017 and having just spending 200 quid on piston ect it needs to be right so if any one knows the idiots guide to mixing 2stroke would be grateful
ideally adding in mls as ive got a nice mixing jug would be more helpful
as iam not to good in the ratio mixing

you should get yaself a handbook mate, must be able to get one off the web, that will tell you the correct amount to mix for the specific bike.

You can get the bottles that measure it for you, but again, a little useless if you don't know what it should be in the first place :smt005

i normaly do 1:50 (1 part oil to 50 parts petrol) 10lt of petrol, 200ml oil

I run 32:1 in the KX, 50:1 is a little bit oil starved in my opinion. It burns 32:1 happy enough so might aswell give it plenty of oil. Also the amount of oil you premix affects the fueling mixture.

thanks for your help chaps i have been miles out :smt009 ive got at least 200ml of oil to 4 liters of petrol :smt018 how bad is that i had the bike out on boxing day with this mixture and it was running really bad felt like the power band was nakerd just wasnt making much power at all. noticed when i got home there was black 2 stroke dripping out the end can so got me thinking that its too rich and the fact the plug was really black and sooty.
