Altering the sub frame shouldnt change the handling, since the forks and shock will have the same settings and geometry. Only a shift in the weight would have some affect id have thought, but nothing that you would notice on the road. Thought about putting more foam in the seat and setting the footrests lowered?

Try and get some adjustable rearsets to fit. Pack the seat with some foam. It will be hard to do it with the subframe as its so close to the joints

Jacking up the subframe won't make any difference to handling. On my race bike I adjusted the top nut on the shock mount as far as it would go, even drilling a hole through it for the split pin. Then with an Ohlins, adjusted that another approx 15mm. Doing all that makes a lot of difference and will make the bike less stable, probably requireing a steering damper to stop it tank slapping. Fine for the track but be carefull for the road, do it bit by bit if you're going to try it. It will make the bike turn quickly though!

i think its one of them things dude. Your best off selling her.
If it hurts to ride it, it wont be fun. Your better off getting something you can ride, at least you will keep on riding then. I dont think you can do anything to a zxr that would make a big enough change to help.
There will be more zxr's when your knees are better.. at least i think thats what i would do anyhow
