you know what its like, its hot, the dog wants a walk, you've run out of coffee, the two jobs you set out to do earlier have taken all day, and now both your hands are bleeding, you cant find your tools because you're sat on them, except for that one, which is just out of reach, which means putting down the heavy thing you've just aligned perfectly .. its been one of those days .... things not lining up, exhaust studs snapping off, bearings that JUST DONT WANT TO GO IN THERE !

end result :

exhaust fitted
head bearings fitted
brakes bled
chain lubed and adjusted
sprocket cover fitted
fan switch fitted

headlight/rev-counter/2 fairing panels/indicator all broken beyond repair because there was a rubber mallet to hand at the point it became too much.

cleaning my bike ready for aintree on satday, fitted new master system so thought id blast it down the road see how well it stops....tried starting it. nothing not even a clicking from the solonoid thingy. It bloody worked first hit last night....twat.
fairing off, tank off/ airbox off.. wiring loom prodding and testing, wiring changes fuses in and out, switchgear stripping much swearing. Ive got coffee and tea but fookin milks gone off.

about to go buy a honda* then put my spare battery in.. sorted.duh
Ive treated myself to a race battery, rather good it is too, but it runs out dead all of a sudden, not gradual so i found out

God ive been there with the exhaust bolts, I got so pissed off I was telling the garage door to go fu*k itself!

Dude, I know how you feel.

Quite a while back I made a thread on here in the "Having Problems" forum about my rev counter playing silly buggers on me and giving false readings. In the end I got so f**king pissed off that I lended up smaking the hell out of the rev counter with a big rubber mallet.

It didn't quite turn out the way yours did but the mallet sure fixed the rev counter.

cant say ive ever had a moment like that, if i need help id get me mum or brother to give me a hand rather than sit there and suffer from my own lack of ability to do more one thing at once

I always like to take my time too, always give my self the day to do something, its much more enjoyable in your own time.

i'm always pissed when working on my bike so pretty chilled and if i get stressed i just drink more.

that'd explain why your numberplate almost fell off on the rideout then?

lol, gits the lot of u. Im just too laid back to get that pissed off at anything really. I think the only thing that can push me far enough to loose my rag are people, my landlord last year is a prime example. There are times that i think something is taking the piss but i sit back look at what im doing wrong and try again.

As Zimm wonderfully pointed out, loosing your rag gets you nowhere it ends up in broken bits and pieces, blood and tears. There are times im home on my own working on my bike, but its very rare for me to ask for someones help.

Years ago I got so frustrated and angry with a brake caliper that wouldn't come apart I beat it to a pulp with a sledge hammer.
The mark in the road outside my dads house was there for years..........

its fell off again since then, and the end can, belly pan, mudguards hanging off now, must have forgot to do the bolts up.

i'm thinking of opening a bike service shop, anyone interested?

I'll post some pics of the battle I had with my exhaust studs later.

I'm about the same.

If it's a 20 min job that turns into a 2 day fk-up, then that's life. There's nothing you can do about it, so why get stressed?

Of course, it does help that I'm usually in my Step Dad's professional garage with all the tools!
