was speaking to baz over wkend and he said when riding behind me u can smell petrol from exhaust
is has a race can on it, but apart from that its standard
maybe its running a bit rich, but the performance and response off the throttle is bang on
is this smell of fuel simply cuz there are no baffles in the can? so its easier for any unburnt fuel to b blown out the back?

He must have some nose if he can tell that the petrol smell is from your exhaust..............
Could it be that he's smelling petrol from the big tank between his legs ????

it pops rather a lot on deceleration but zx7rs do this apparently.
i aint really bothered as it runs mint, and so to me this means the fuelling is spot on...
im just curious if it could be the definate lack of baffles in the can which allows free passage for any unburnt fuel to escape

must have a proper jew nose to pick that up..
The only way you'll no for sure if the fueling is spot on is on a dyno, and if its standard jetting i can tell you for fact that the bikes fueling is crap like they always are out of the factory

if you can make it better then why dont you? Sake of a few hundred you get a much more rideable and quick bike sounds worth it to me..But then whats worth while to me isnt always the same for you.

I noticed that it pops alot when you rev it, so it might be running a touch rich. If your worries get your plugs out and have a look. Other than that, keep it how it is, it sounds mint!

The ZX7R's run stuiped rich from the factory iirc. They also have loads of emmsions crap that you can pull out, with it on its not possible to get the bike running sweat fueling

same with zx6's, they pull air in through 2 reed valves on the cam cover and dump it into the exhaust headers on the over run to "lean out" the emissions, but it also makes its pop and bang .. folk just pull it all off and fit blanking plates.
