Due to a crap time at the dyno.....I am considering breaking my race bikes and buying a 600rr.
So my question is what would a few things expect to fetch on flea bay
SP forks maxtonised
Full maxton rear shock
wets on wheels
strg damper
MHP full system
BDK tuned head with stainless valves
SP cams

Or do i bite the bullet and get a refresh done....Donno if i can be arsed though..
Help me decide

ahh mate, stick with it. anyone can go the easy route with a 600 :smt002
400's are special.
The 400 race scene has seemed to have a revival of sorts this year, lots of entries at most clubs it seems. especially after fears they are starting to die out. not trying to make you feel guilty! :smt002

i reckon you would be lookin at 1300 to 1500 for that stuff you have listed.

whats up with her? fueling to toad or power down?
bdk? great with yams, but zxr? expensive?

Power down mate....Way too low, Prolly just a refresh, But is it somthing I can be arsed with. Im not too competetive anymore, Too many responsibilities, i started off in the 600s 12 years ago, Would just be a bit of fun and the odd trackday.
If your pricing is about right I think i have made my decision, :smt002 When i get a bit of spare time E bay it is,
Cheers
Glyn

i think jake's about right with the prices ..

shame i'm nearly broke trying to finish the 600, or i'd have some of that.. well, the cams and the shock at any rate :)

what kinda power are you getting compared to what you were hoping for ?

Mate it was pumping out 74bhp, now its down to 60 ish :smt017 , Fueling is spot on, I havent had the dyno printout or the bike back yet, I think i need to see where it is loosing power compared to previous runs. :smt013

see if you get a 600 you will be doubling your power. its all about preference.

that's a heck of a drop off :smt013

valve seats ? tight valve clearances ? rings ? cam timing slipped ?

best possible cause would be a knackered plug/lead giving a high rpm missfire i guess .. hope its something simple anyway

power isnt everything, 60bhp can be more fun. With your argument then you might as well just go for a 1000 as your getting another 60bhp ontop of the 600's.

I enjoyed trackdays more on my 400 as showing up somone pushing hard on a cbr6 on a 15 year old heap of toad 400 is priceless. Plus when you get properly owned you can blame it on your lack of power :D

obviously you feel the need to compensate. After all more power means more length dosnt it?

well to be fair the rider of a new cbr6 would have to be shat to the extreams cos they weigh about the same handle about the same in fact you can corner better on the cb but the power brakes etc are well in a different league.

more power does = more fun althoe the 4 was good and i enjoyed it i wouldnt go back i think. but everyones different.

i will tell you now that any half decent rider will wopp your butt 10 times over on a 400 round somwhere like rockingham. Last time i was there a lad on a RS125 was running mid pack in the advanced group. Thats agenst the likes of gixxer1000's, CBR600, ZX7r's ect ect.

Just because the bike is better i 100% garentee that you wont be able to ride it close to its limits. The fact that you needed the extra power to have fun shows that you need to come of the built roads and find somthing with some twists init.
