My first ZXR400 didn't have any and the brakes weren't great. Had to pull a fair bit of lever to get the bike too lock up and bled them quite often.
The new bike I have has braided hoses front and rear and WOW, what a difference. I think they are defo worth the money!!

goodridge, hel & earls all great kit and braided is better than std rubber hoses, less expanding of the rubber but also less bore size so harder to bleed.well worth it tho!

i prefer hel .. but mainly, just get some with stainless fittings, the cheap goodgridge kits have plated ends and look crap after a few months.

goodridge are cheaper than hel i think, at least they are for my bike, they will both give you the same performance, i had goods on my zxr an they were fab, got hel on my cbr an they are fab too. thing with hel thoe is that you can select a range of colours and banjos but if you dont mind stainless then go goodridge.
