Well yesterday was good and i didnt think today would be the same. So what did you all get upto on this lovely day? I hope you made the most of it!

I was up at 4.30 this morning to watch the F1, back to bed at 7.15 by which time it was half daylight and very foggy. Woke up again at 11.30, looked out the window, clear blue sky and sunshiiiiiiiiiiiine!

Hmmm, lovely day what shall i do? txt me mate Mike see if hes up for a scoot. He was indeed and out we headed to a place called Ebbsfleet (yes near the new eurostar terminal), and theres two roundabouts linked up by a curve in the road. Very popular spot for bikers as its a good place to GYKD and places for people to stand and watch :smt003

Took some pictures while we were at it of me and the ZXR in action, unfortunately Mike isnt the best photogropher so pics are a bit pants!

After a nice spin around here we found ourselves having built up quite a sweat and i had actually worn right through my knee slider! Went and stopped at nearby services and got ourselves a drink. Then headed to a place called Grain. Its out nearby the local power station (so the air is clean) to which a lovely right hander exists and is lovely and smooth, you can GYKD in both directions at a good 80mph and theres no traffic cos its so out of the way.

Also took the opportunity to take some more pics of the ZXR again. :smt003

All in all a bloody good day, i also now have a new wallpaper for me desktop! This is also one for some of you phtoto shop addicts to play about with ;)

looks like you had a good day mate ..

i fitted sp cams to me race bike, walked the dog, shouted at the mrs, threw some mugs across the kitchen and went for a shakedown run after quickly attaching a numberplate to the race bike ..

2006 vintage Raven's Wood Lodi. 'Old Vine' Zinfandel, for those interested.
It's been open about twenty-eight hours, and is rich, full and smooth as you'd like, but not heavy as you'd expect from an old grape variety.

Wine tasting day yesterday and today.

I get to take any bottles opened for tasting home at the end of the day, and it was nice n' quiet in the shop today. winks biggrin

That and a Riesling, but that's nowhere near as good as the Lodi, despite being the same price.

So in short, I've spent today carefully moderating how much I could drink at what times in order to be under the limit on the way home, and now I'm going to polish the bottle off.

And while I wasn't 'sampling' wine, I was sat in the shop doorway, watching all the cars going by. Lots of nice stuff today, being as it was so nice.
250 GT0,
V8 Vantage,
DB9 + DB9 shorty,
DBS x 6 (Marlborough seems riddled with bloody Astons)
Another Mk2, in BRG this time, but nowhere near as tidy.
Miura,
a handful of Sovereigns and Daimler affairs,
a new Skyline GTR (not seen one of those yet till today, I got so excited I nearly dropped the wine bottle),
A full posse of Gold stars trooped by at one point, too. My, now they made a good noise going down the high street.

stripped & cleaned the carbs on the zxr, changed the battery as the previous one gave up the ghost, changed air filter, replaced the balancing pipes, and took the zxr out for a good run!

I also went out on mountain bike saturday, nearly killed myself up a 2 mile hill, ouch!!
Sunday went out for a blast on the ZXR, loved it. Had a lil race with a 916, he killed me on straights but couldn't shake me round roundabouts:D:D:D I was sooo close to my first ninja knee down i could feel it!!! lol. I commute on the bike but i don't wear sliders so sometimes i forget to stick my knee out when i'm actually wearin them :tease

I got into a little race myself at Ebbsfleet with a GSX1400, he pissed off on the straight bit, but by the time wed come back on ourselves round the roundabouts, i was back on his tail, and so it carried on. When we pulled up we gave each other a knowing smile, him knowing i was a smaller bike and i was able to keep up.

all good fun!

Got woken up by the dog which had spittled everywhere, went mental at it. Then fitted dynojet kit to my dads bike, then had to go rescue him as he broke down, and told me the gearbox blew. Was the sidestand switch lol. Got spat on by the dog some more.

That was about it.

Oh and some riding of course.

Yea I was thinking it looks sweet in white. Is it a pain in the butt to keep looking clean? I had a castrol honda rep that was alrite in dry but the slightest bit of wet and it just started to look dead scruffy around the lower half.

*shrugs*

Tha'ss maah job.

It involves a lot of sitting about doing not a lot. A bit of standing about, doing not a lot. A bit of bullshitting people about wine I haven't tried, and a tiny tiny bit of actually talking about wines I do know about. Oh and moving some boxes about a bit.

And on the weekends, it just involves drinking wine and encouraging others to do the same!
