Mines dismantled in my shed atm. I bought some polystyrene cups (about 50 for £1) and used these to store all the bolts/nuts etc for various parts of the bike, also got boxes to store the bigger stuff in. This helps alot when putting it back together!

Some parts I didn't need to completely take apart, like the tail section. so I just unbolted it at the rear subframe and dissconnected it as a whole, left the fairings on and everything.

What car is it you're putting it in?

but really,

fairing off.

silencer off

front end will come off almost as one, wheel, forks, bottom yoke.

handlebars, calipers and top yoke stay with the bike or you'll be disconnecting everything = hassle

rear end similar, suspension linkage, swingarm pivot, then swingarm, wheel, hugger, chainguard all come off, but disconnect the rear caliper from the hanger and that stays with the main frame/engine/tank bit, chain also.

tadaa !

bike in 3 large bits + fairing panels + silencer

but really .. think in terms of time = money, cost your own time at £10/hour and its normally more efficient to hire a van for £20 than mess about stripping/rebuilding the bike + running the risk of ruining the interior of your car.

i second that, youll spend hours dismantling and then reassembling. Plus youll need a friend to help with some of that unless you have 3 arms?

easier and quicker to hire a van mate.

Why not just ask if someone on here has a van close by that could help you out.

Then why not just drop the engine and take that? But yea if you need the whole bike there then I would definitly hire a van
