Got me thinking the other day, the next best thing after a nice bike is a good shed to keep it in. Im guessing most bikers have one to keep thier pride and joy in, and to work in to maintain them.

So lets see them!

Mines brick built, about 10'x10' in size and about 8' tall, flat topped too.

Got a bench that stretches across of which a vice sits in the middle (my dad found that in a skip years ago), one side has a pillar drill, the other side consists mainly of tools and drawers underneath.

behind is another storag shelf for liquids, paint and some shoe boxes of crap and spares.

smack in the middle is the 400.

Not much room to move about in really, could do with being another 4' longer and that would make it alot easier to move about with the bike in, also got the old living room carpet in there, not ideal if you spill anything but i do oil changes outside.

As you can see its rather tidy and organised, that'll be my OCD tendencies....

lol, that row of four, ones full of sockets, other full of wire wheels and paint brushes, next is spare tools, and the one after that i think is more spare tools!

Its not perfect tho, the side entrance door is a git to get the bike in and the step upto makes it even more akward, that does however make the bike harder to steal! The door used to be on the front of the shed till my dad started getting paranoid incase someone broke in and we wouldnt be able to tell if we looked out of our back window, so was moved to the side. Otherwise the bike would wheel straight in.

oh to have the luxury of a bench i have to use my knee... makes it fun when you are trying to drill!!

I'm a bit lucky,mine is approx 40 feet long, its about 6 feet wide at one end and about 15 feet at the other. It has kitchen units and a sink in it, all plumbed in. A nice radiator hooked up with the central heating.

Then i have the usual kit inside, tools, roll cabs, parts washer, grinder, drill. I fancy a lathe and a miller next and looking at digging out a pit for when i'm working on cars etc.

I have a tool fetish! My house is a toad hole though

The luxury of a parts washer! Im looking forward to building my own workshop in the future. The one thing i would like tho is a bike lift, how fed up am i of sitting on the floor!

The parts washer is no better than a bucket with a brush and parafin in it. In fact its crap, makes a right mess spraying and splashing all over. Those cheap stackable tubs that you get in staples etc is just as good!

I've got a parts washer as well. It consists of my moms old tupawear and wd40.

I remember watching american once and they were at jay leno's, he has a seismic parts cleaner!

My main work area at the moment is the main road! all tools in the house etc... I spent 4 hours Thursday with my mate on the main road fitting me new Micron system with 3 alan keys and a 10mm spanner

But soon the council will be giving me the keys to my new garage, it's not a shed but it certainly does the job.

It's not tall enough to fit the Subaru in, and definitely not long or wide enough to fit the Vitesse in, so the ZX has it all to herself!
