it needs to have extra thin walls mate as the recess tapers, and i think they are 12mm. You also need one thats got the rubber cap inside that grips the plug. Otherwise its a fidly job wth a pair of long nose pliers.

i always use one of them telescopic magnet tools to pull the plugs out, so much easier than fiddling with long nose pliers.

Hi,
Easiest way to get the plugs out once they're undone is to just stick the HT cap back down the hole, push quite hard so you hear the HT cap clicking on the spark plug, then just pull it out.... vwala! I have about 8 spare HT caps loose, so I just stick 1 of them down there instead.
Regards
Rich

surely pushing on the plug you're gonna risk closing the gap?

yeah but if you're pulling the plug out then you can check and adjust anyway. Plus if all you've done is undo the spark plug, the electrodes are still normally in the whole and its just tilted to one side. I do both long nose and ht caps, ht cap never seems to close the gap up on me. Maybe if you're MONGO, and a tad ham fisted it might!
