This pig-ugly car was mentioned in another topic again as being the greatest car ever made, so I just thought I'd mention it was on the Top Gear test track last night.

And can I just say HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! ONLY FIFTH FASTEST!!!!

I'm still 100% sure the SSC Ultimate will whupp it's ass, and THAT is the fastest car in a straight line and around a track. Hopefully they'll get that on there some day...

Seriously though, I was quite impressed the Veyron did that well, and that should put paid to a lot of people who think it handles crap. Their track isn't all about power, so if it's able to beat so many other cars then it must be pretty agile to go with it.

I'm glad it was a let-down, though.

Yeah i saw it last night too!

I knew it it werent going to top the board, its a big heavy car despite being the fastest in a straight line. You could see round the track that it werent THAT fast compared to what had already been round it before.

No denying its a good car but obviously not the ultimate!

Mustnt forget to mention the Zonda sounded bloody good!

Veyron did much better than i expected. Still, i wouldn't own one; looks plain boring.

Zonda on the other hand, was awesome!! Sounded like a 90s f1 car

darn i would have put money on the veyron to do well. is that sweed car still top that korninseg thingy i do think they are mighty fine automobiles, a nice little death trap on wheels.

I think I heard they'd taken one of those Radicals with the Haybusa V8 around there and it was something daft like 17 seconds quicker, but they've kind of covered it up... Or am I thinking of the Nurburgring record? Or was it disallowed for being more of a racecar or soemthing? Dammit I don't really know anything, do I?
