If it's broke spray it with WD40, if it's still broke spray it again and leave it over night, if it's still broke, bin it.

Re: Riding in the snow!!
Ive been looking forward in my car but actually been moving sideways a few times this week. Surely I speak for more then myself when I say I never even thought about taking it out this week but it is my first week with a bike and not exactly novice weather.
Hows the zxr coping in the snow?

Re: Riding in the snow!!
She seems to be coping fine. No problems with engine running (carb icing etc) but I ain't doing more than 30mph. The tyres have given me better grip than I expected. Not been leaning it over and been going slow round corners. The slushy stuff is the worst, but I just try and stay in the cleared bit's on the road.86zxr01 wrote:Ive been looking forward in my car but actually been moving sideways a few times this week. The only problem I have found is getting going. The road at the end of my street has a slight hill and the back tyre spins up too easily. The back end of the bike then slips to the side and is a nightmare. Once on the main roads, it's been ok.
It's not advised, but it can be done.

Re: Riding in the snow!!
It makes you concentrate though, doesn't it?
I was absolutely knackered when I got off the bike!
In 2007 I did about 15 miles in 6" of snow after getting caught out at work. I think that was actually better than the melted snow and ice we've had most of this week...

Re: Riding in the snow!!
this is a no go area u bikeers are mad riding it mite be u ok but theres car drivers out there who cant control there car in this weather thats how i see it . seen loads of crashes people dont realise how long it takess to slow down on snow
Re: Riding in the snow!!
The worst thing is when you a riding along and you have a car right up your butt. You know if you fall off he/she ain't gonna be able to stop in time. Also when the trucks go past the other way you get a coating of slush. when your visor freezes and you have to ride with it up is also a nightmare, you get nose bungees frozen to your cheeks!!jack sharpezxr 400 L wrote:this is a no go area u bikeers are mad riding it mite be u ok but theres car drivers out there who cant control there car in this weather thats how i see it . seen loads of crashes people dont realise how long it takess to slow down on snow
