Ignition Coils - Manual no help.

Easy one for anyone really.

What colours go on which tabs on the ignition coils?

The wiring diagram just shows the cable colours, not which coil tab to connect to. I figured it didnt matter as the manual says nothing but I've been having idle probs for months with it cutting out when hot. Today I put standard cams in, spent hours getting the idle mixture to be as good as poss, balance the carbs...swapped the coils and leads etc etc etc...

Finally, just out of curiosity I swapped the low tension wires on 1 and 4 coil and hey presto runs better, swapped the other one and it didnt seam to make any difference but the bike now runs way smoother.

Can anyone let me know how thiers is wired up?

Cheers, but..

The tabs are coloured. One Green and one black. I've got mine lashed in with tie wraps so 'up' isnt that much help to me unless you let me know which way you've got em fitted.

Also, I assume your cable connections are two reds, one green and one black same as mine. The manual sez that each coil gets a red, the black to coil for #1 and #4 and the green to #2 and #3

I think I wired mine up so the green went to green and black to black and then added the reds just to colour co-ordinate LOL. It deffo runs better swapped unless I disturbed something when I was in there and its just a red herring.

Pic of what i have. It souldnt really matter, the primary of a coil is the same no matter what way round you connect it to the wires. Im guessing you might have a dodgy connector somewhere?

Wouldnt surprise me at all to have dodgy connection. Thanks for the pic, I'll wire it up like that tomorrow and re-make the connectors for good measure. I Appreciate the advice mate, ta.
