Hey just want to say that I really like the Biking Community. Thanks to some bloke who pull over to give us a hand to sort out my rear brake so I could get home.

Lost the bolt that held the brake caliper to the tension bar while coming home from work. Pulled over on the side of the road to try and find something to clip it back together and some bloke pulled over in his car and asked what the problem was. Told him so he went off to go get some bolts from his house. As I was waiting another biker pulled over to offer some help as well said that if the other bloke couldn't help and I was still there when he came round again then he would try find us some bolts. Any way they both came back with an array of bolts and lucky enough one of them fitted. So all good managed to get home.

This is why I ride bikes, the Biking Community always willing to lend a hand.

Thanks to the Guy who lives in Tring.

As long as you return the karma whenver you get the chance, then it all works out! :smt001

Quite often I've turned around to go back to check on a bike on the other side of the road - in fact if I don't now then I feel guilty about it...

I drive the Vit with a toolbox in the back...

Always stop, even if you can't help, it can't hurt to ask.

Last three times I have stopped though, it's just been a flat tyre, which I can do fack all about with a socket...

With the only notable exception really being the 'finger territory' out in Oz.

No, far from it.

In some of the more remote territories in the Outback of Oz, population is so sparse, that you can drive for days consecutively without seeing another car on the road.

It's customary to raise a finger off the steering wheel in greeting if and when you do see another road user. Just to say 'Hey, I see you, how you doing out here?'

It's a nice gesture, I think.

One thing I have noticed is some people don't nod to learner bikers. I always do. I'm sure a lot a people also do it but we have to remember these peeps are the future of biking and what will keep us on the road. :smt006
