Insurance: Legalised Theft.

Just moved house, from a flat, with my bikes and car parked on the street, no security,
to a lovely semi-detatched house with a private road, driveway and stashage for my toys.
(I had to get away from my neighbours!!)

Car insurance rebate : £45 after their admin fees. (Yay!!)
ZX6R Insurance swop: rebate of £22 due, but after £15 admin fees getting £7 back (Yay!!)
ER6N insurance: They would like me to pay them £82 please. WHAT?!!??!!?!?!

this is after I paid them £70 last month when I got the ER6N and swopped my CRM250 policy across and upgrade to fully comp.

So I told them I shall be contacting the insurance ombudsman, as I believe they are trying to extort me. They said I must be lying about my other vehicles, so when I got the new docs for the other 2 vehicles in the post today, I faxed across the info, and I just had a phone call now:

Miss K? Yes, we received your fax, and administration error meant we mis-quoted you for your change of address and circumstances, yes, there will be a £25 rebat due, but £25 administration charge applies to all changes of policy, and therefore we will get that swopped over immediately for you. Once again, many apologies. Thank you."

But how many people would have just paid it and grumbled, I wonder?

You make a very valid point....................always complain when you feel that you have been ripped off or done over.

My bank have tried to charge me for 3 separate occassions when my account went into the red briefly just the day befor pay day..............three times I went down to the branch and made my point.................result 3 refunds....................mind you it helps when I have a quite a bit in my savings accounts............and I threaten to close all of them :smt002 Especially now that I own part of it too.

I've just had my insurance renewal and it's gone up a bit but I wasn't that bothered untill I realised I'm paying more than the wife and she is in her twenties and has only had a full licence for 14 months...................I've got over 10 years no claims bonus and a full licence since 1980................I will be complaining and if need be changing insurance companies

My insurance renewal is £210 same cover from the wifes insurance company.....................£117

First thing Monday morning I'll be going to war.........................

And it would seem that we can get a join policy to cover my two bikes and hers for both of us to ride them.............more on this later

Yeah but my wife has had a licence for 14 months. I've got 31 years riding experience and a licence for 29 years

Fact is the quote I've got is £90 cheaper than my current insurer and £70 cheaper than the wifes
