Arg if he only could reply to my messages

Hi

I sent two messages to a guy in Germany which has a 99 model for sale. I can't get any reply from him. I have a guy that can check out the bike for me. I have also talked to a firm that will pick up the bike from Germany and deliver it at least to Oslo. Working on the details getting it all the way home.

The only problem is now that he has not replied to my messages. I hope he will soon before the urge for a ZXR400 fades.

Regards

Hi

Still feeding that urge for a ZXR400. I sent two mails to Germany now. Maybe something will happen. The first guy is not responding at all. Strange. But that is how it is. Now there are two others that I have sent a mail to.

Hi

Thanks. But if I buy a UK bike then it is more of a hassle to get it on the road here. I need to change the headlight as we drive on the right (correct :excited ) side of the road.

And to get it here would cost me more.

Regards

The L model headlight lights up on both sides, not just half of it, surely that wouldn't require changing?

Still if its more to ship to you its irrelevant.

Hi

The problem is that your headlight (I would think you are from the UK) is constucted in a way that lights are beamed to the left side of the road because you drive on the left side of the road.

When you try to get such a bike road legal in Norway where we drive on the right side the light from the headlight needs to be pointed to the right side of the road. And since the UK does not you have to change the headlights to the ones that point in the right way for Norway.

That could be a problem. So it is easier to get a bike which is for my market than to get one from the UK,

Hi

I still have trouble getting people in Germany to reply to my messages.

I got a reply from one dude 30.04 which said I could buy his bike. That was after one email and then another. I was happy I got a reply. Sent a reply back to him the same day. I have a friend of mine that lives near by which can check out the bike for me.

In the email I told him that, I also told him how I want to do the money transfer. Well after 30.04 I have gotten no reply at all. I sent him a new email last night and I also sent him a sms to his phonenumber. I do not know if it is a cellphone number so I do not know if he got the sms.

Very strange. I am serious. I have not been this serious for a long time. Now that I want one there is no reply from the sellers. That seems very strange to me.

Well I hope that he will come around.

Regards

This none of my business but if I was buying a bike from oversees (Norway for example) I would take cash, a van and I would do the deal face to face. I would not (under any circumstances) send money orders, paypal or any other money transaction. Money would change hands only when I could see the bike, confirm it was what it was supposed to be and I could take bike with me in exchange for my cash. Thats me - a trusting sort :smt003

Hi

I do understand your view on this. I have a friend which will testdrive the bike for me. If it is okey and it is as good as it looks on pictures then I will take a chance with the money. I have no van and it is 3500km down there. And then the same home again.

I got a reply after I sent a sms hopefully we are in motion now. I may have the bike shipped to Oslo in Norway and then drive with a friend of mine down there. Then drive the 1500km home from Oslo.

I have never found out what the major engine work was on the L9 model. This bike is from mid 1998. It says here on the frontpage under models that the L9 had a big engine upgrade.

Should I go for a 1999 model? A L9?

TIA

Regards

Hi

Thank you very much. Now I know I do not have to go for the latest versions. Strange that I have not found that post as I have been scanning the forums. Not that good it seems.

Here is my shopping list:
I would like the grab handler at the back
I would like two headlights (not possible as that was on pre "grab handler" bikes
I would like it green as that is the Kawasaki way and as orginal as possible. No funkey graphics as that indicate it has been damaged too
I want the milage as low as possible
I want it to be as far north in Germany as possible as that makes it cheaper to get to Norway

I have my eyes on a 1996 model now which seems to be good. I have finally gotten a reply from the company that has it. Things are in motion now.
The private sellers would not reply to my messages or they would reply after I nag them and then ask the same questions I have answered several times before.

Very strange. They do not think that I am serious I guess. Well I have not been this serious for a long time. I have bought my Honda NSX from Switzerland. I made that happend as I wanted it to happen. So this will happen I am sure.

My mod list/shopping list include this
Change the gearing to be in racemode (as I have racemode on the trackbike and that is the way I now "think"
Get myself a smoked windscreen
Probably fit some paddock stand bobbins and get myself yet another paddock stand
Change the rear set to something that looks alot cooler than the oem, but the one I found on Ebay was very expencive
Change to braided stainless steel hoses as I have had that on former bikes and I have it on my racebike. Got to have it
Some LED miniblinkers for the front
I found a good looking rear taillight on Ebay with integrated blinkers
A mono seat thing. I have not found any yet. Seen some cool looking here on this site

I guess the list is getting longer and longer- I have to get myself the bike first

Regards

If you want to be taken seriously then I would phone them. Unfortunately a lot of people (myself included) only consider people who call to be serious buyers, it maybe an idea to transfer some money to ure friend who will look at the bike so that he can pay cash if the bike is suitable.

This seems to be a real pain in the butt for you! I really hope you get a bike you want soon!! lol

Hi

Well I know that since I live where I live I have trouble to be taken serious. It seems though that english is not a language that they master. The firm that is the hottest thing now is far away from where I have people so it can't be looked at.

After the next mail from the firm I will try to see if I can get anyone to check out the bike for me. Calling them is not an option. I have used Yahoo Babelfish to translate my emails so they understand. I guess I could have some beer and try to call them. My german is a lot better after some beers. But I do sound like somebody they want to forget. A leader that got critized for taking way to long foreign vacation some years ago :smt001

I have planned the whole thing about the money transfer and everything. As long as he answeres the questions I have and I think it is the bike for me I will proceed. Try to get somebody to check out the bike and then take it from there. When they see the money on their account I am sure they will understand that I am serious. I will have a contract before I send any money though.

Regards

Hi

I am closer than before. I got a reply from the shop which has one for sale about 10/14 days ago. I got the reply after I sent them a sms to the cellphonenumber they had on their site.

Then nothing. Well I just "snapped" today and sent a new sms. The dealer called me from Germany. The conversation was pretty good. His english was not that good. He did not answer all the questions I had in the mails. But he answered a few.

Enough answeres that I think this is the bike for me. He got a mail yet again from me. I hope he replies now so I can get the bike on it's way to it's new home pretty soon.

It has been so nice outside Narvik and it would have been fun having a bike to have fun with.

Regards
