CBR 4 Pot Nissin Calipers

Post by MillaMeter »

Hi,

Will the 4 pot Nissin calipers off a cbr fireblade fit? I know some people have fitted them on here but I dunno what sort of mods you need to do. I heard that you need to grind something away from the forks? Can anyone show me a picture of the cbr calipers fitted to a ZXR?

Regards

Rich

6 pots are great if you can bleed em and get em to work, try some 4 pot nissins off a gixer 1990 ish, think they are the same hole mountings.

Get some K1/K2/K3 4 pots mate. Its exactly what I've done and they've just arrived. I will post a thread up later.

These will fit...

There actually the wrong size. They fit the the bikes with the crap 6pots (ie ZX7r, ZX6r, TL ect) but the zxr has 90mm spacing iirc

Sorry i dont no if the fireblade calipers fit. I THINK the RSV calipers should fit the spacing but you'll need to get them to line up on the disk.

Generaly for brake conversions your going to have to do a whole load of research yourself fella.

Hi,

Thanks for all the info guys! Scott, those Nissins you just shown me on ebay, they're the exactly the same as the cbr 600s and 900s. This is why I thought they might fit but wasn't 100% sure or not. Some people have fitted fireblade Nissins on here somewere, I was just hoping they would see this thread and maybe share some tips on them.

I'll keep an eye for some gsxr k1s tho.

Let me know how you get on with the calipers Scott wont ya ;)

Hi,

There's just no preasure behind the lever and they work shite. I've already rebuild the calipers twice due to dust seals jamming the pistons open. The rattle on these calipers is unreal when cruising down any road, they rattle and chatter so loud I can hear it over my engine (yes the pads do have copper grease on)

I've just had enough with them to be honest, the only best thing about them is they look the bollox and make bigger bikes brakes look pants.

Exactly the same mate. I tried everything. I went through 2 and a half bottles of brake fluid trying the get them to work properly. I tried 3 different brake mastercylinders including one of a gsxe thou and still they were crap. These calipers need a brembo unless they are in tip top condition.

strange because the ones on my ZXR750 are perfect, theres almost 0 traviel on the leaver just pure power!

Maybe its because the 400 disks are to small for all 3 pistions to grab effectivly?
