take the bolts out of the mudguard. Its held on at the front anyhow isint it?

im a little confused, cos they are the same calipers as mines (just different colour) and i dont have any issues with the bleed nipple catching on anything.
perhaps you could post a pic of the problem?

nope his bleed nipples are different position fromw hat i can see. his come off infront of the inlet and yours are off to the side

I have also fitted the cbr600fx calipers and it seems very strange as the lever travels straight back to bar, yet if you ride the bike it will nearly lock the front wheel with the slightest touch, am abit concerned if this will pass scrutinering? Any help would be great, hoping simmo could help me out with this one,

There is an interesting article on this in this months PB magazine.
They have a K1 Gsxr1000 as a project bike fitted with the dreaded 6 potters.
To cut a long story short they fitted 4 pot tokico's ( from an sv iirc but k3 gsxr600/750 are the same) and the brakes were demonstrably better.
I've had a play with this myself on my Kr-1s (same caliper spacing as a zxr400).
I've tried both the tokico and cbr nissin ones. They both have the correct hole spacing but use a smaller diameter bolt so require a bush to sleeve down the mount. They also need spacing in a little to line up correctly with the disc. They both offer dramatically better braking (two finger stoppies anyone?) but the Nissins need some work to fit. Basically although the hole spacing is correct the sit at a slightly different angle meaning the disc fouls the back of the caliper. 20 minutes with a dremel sorted it and I actually preferred the feel of the Nissins over the Tokicos, not so aggressive.
I picked mine up on ebay for considerably less than the cost of rebuilding the originals so highly recommended.
