Pound for pound a ZXR400 is the sharpest handling mostest fun quick steering and cheap to run bike you could ever imagine.
Loads of spares available and even more go faster stuff to be had....................easy to work as well

A Bandit 600 (and I've ridden one) compared to a ZXR is ...................................................................PANTS

But then on this forum we're biased

welcome and thanks for the kind comments, 2 completely different bikes, what are you looking for in a bike? is the question you should ask yourself then you will find the answer.

My best mate had a Bandit while I had my 400, so we had many plays together! Plus I've had two later ones as courtesy bikes in the last year.

It was pretty even most of the time, but when we got to pushing on after learning the bikes the ZXR would go around the outside of him as if he wasn't moving and left the Bandit for dead at anything over 100mph.

I think it depends what you want... if you intend going down the streetfighter route then the Bandit is a great bike (and the newer ones have the best gearbox of any bike I've ever had), you can get them with ABS which could save your neck, and they're very reliable and will survive a drop better.

The downside is they're boring as hell, freezing in Winter and heavy rain, and you won't get as many people looking at your bike as you will if you get the ZXR.

The last year they were made was 1999............ L9

There are a good few registered after that but L9 was the last.

A good clean L1 would be fine.............but choose carefully

As people have said they are different bikes. However I've just 'upgraded' for a zxr to a gsxr 600. The gsxr is eaiser to ride but nowhere near as much fun as the zxr.

I'm sure you will be happy with either!

p.s My zxr is in the for sale section :smt002

^ It seems like it!!!

It's boring by comparison, that said with the money I had it was the newest type of design I could get. The ninja's were
still fat bikes with carbs untill 2003.
