Anyone here got Dainese Leathers? Sizing query..

Just wondering if anyone on here has a Dainese 2 (or 1) piece suit in Euro 50, 52, or 54, am trying to work out sizing before an ebay auction ends :smt002

I'm thinking I'm a 52, but have seen a nice set of 54 leathers.

Looking at the Dainese chart it 'should' fit, but from what I've read the 54 seems to fit more like a 36" waist.

http://www.motorace.com/sizing.htm

I tried going to the nearest Dainese dealer yesterday for some test fits, but they only had a Euro 50 suit which is the same as the Dainese one I have :smt013 , tried on a nice jacket and zipped that to the trousers and 52 fit me best there, but I'm pretty sure they cut them more conservatively (plus these were brand new so not even broken in yet!)

I'm 6'2", 33" waist and weigh about 12st 10..) The Euro 50 I have are just a wee bit too small for me (length on crotch to shoulders and pull tight around the knees when I bend them which gives me nice red marks.. plus means I can't open my legs enough to get my slider down confuddled

Thoughts anyone? :smt003

Lean the bike over further! :pmsl

Seriously though, sounds like a 50 jacket and 52 trousers should be ok. I'm 5'11", about 12.5 stone and have a 33" waist and those are the sizes in my Spyke 2 piece suit.

:smt003 think I'd be off the edge of the tyre..

I'm wondering if I do need to mix and match :(

What are yours like length wise? i.e. crotch to shoulder and location of knee armour on knees?

Shame these EU50 are so tight on the knees, I think my legs are about 2-3" too long so the thigh section is pulled tight to get the armour to sit on my knees which pulls on the top of them and ends up giving me nice red marks after an hour or so of riding.. The pain isn't so bad once I loose sensation in that area.. :pmsl

The shortness in length I can get away with on the bike as they're pretty much an exact fit (no room to wear a jumper or other trousers under them :smt003 )

Go into your local dealer and try some on, sorted :)

:smt001 I've been trying the local Infinity Motorcycles but it seems they only have the suits (size and make) I need to try in Farnborough which is miles away from me (I'm in Bromley Area and work in London Bridge)

I was up in the Great Portland Street branch yesterday, seems there aren't many Dainese stockists this side of London (or in central london), I might try and go to their Clapham branch as that's meant to be pretty big.

The fit on mine was perfect off the peg. Trousers are getting a bit tight - but that's my incentive to get down the gym rather than pay nearly £500 out for new trousers! Oh, and I'm about a 32" inside leg.

If they're the same make and model they should all zip together whatever sizes you have. And remember you might want to wear work clothes under your leathers, too, so make sure they're not too tight for that!

Dainese can alter stuff for you if you send it to them. I don't think it costs that much either.
They might be able to move the armour, or tighten up a larger pair for you. Might be worth asking your local dealer.

Good idea.. I wonder how much it would be to bring the sides in on the 54 suit. I did ask about getting my current one altered at a good leather place in London I have the number for, but they said it wasn't worth it as it would need inserts etc and wouldn't look right again.

Hmm, I might go for this larger pair.
