Do I need pillion footpegs on the bike (I have a piilion seat) to pass the MOT? I've got them but a bit is missing from one of them....

If I do need them to pass, will L model pegs fit an H?

Cheers.

Rach.

I have a feeling you do if you have a passenger seat fitted. I think the H and L model foot rests swap aswell. What bit are you missing?

yes if you have the pillion seat fitted you have to have the foot rests fitted and in useable/secure condition. just like having a seat in a car with no seatbelt.
just a thought .......but i dont no where you would stand just taking the pillion seat and pegs off for the mot then just put it back on after.surely it should pass as they can fail it if its not there.i might be wrong just a thought.

Thanks guys and thanks v much to MOI for the offer of the footpegs...

Extonyg's comment about taking the pillion seat off as well as having no footpegs got me thinking...so I rang the MOT place and asked them if I could get away with doing that...and they said yes! :excited

How random is that?? It's blatantly supposed to be there, but if it isn't then it doesn't matter! oh well problem solved! Thanks for the help lads :smt003

Jet size query

On a separate note....

does anyone know how big the carb jets are supposed to be as standard? I thought they were 98 (that's what it says in the H2 manual I've got...but my bike's an H1), and I've got 102s in my bike which I thought was because it had a straight through...however, I just rang Cradley and they reckon they're 102 as standard...

Can anyone shed any light?

Cheers,

Rach.

Hey ho,

I am prolly wrong, and just passing info on from what i heard at J + P last weekend.
Chris (the bike guru dude) mentioned i may need to change my jets from 98 to 102 as i have an after-market can.

nah bike hasn't been MOTd yet, need to sort a couple of other bits on it first...fingers crossed though for 1st time through!

Yeah I know it's got a straight through can, but I want to put a baffled one on so I can do track days etc...problem is when I put the standard can on, because it's overfuelling so much (which I can only assume is because of the 102 jets because the pilot screws are set correctly) it just cuts out on idle because the plugs can't cope with the extra fuel.

Am going to have a play with it this afternoon anyway and see if I can sort it...if anyone does know what size the jets are supposed to be as standard though it would be much appreciated! I know the manual says 98, but I was wondering if they changed the carbs between H1 and H2 (I know they're more restricted on the l...)
